Note 57 Osse (10/14/08 11:21) Recent MUD Stability Players of The Two Towers: Many of you have likely noticed that we have been having some stability issues on the MUD over the last week or so. To give you a general idea of what is going on: basically, the MUD gets locked into a loop of some sort which maxes out the processor for exactly a half-hour. It is not an issue with the server itself, but rather an issue of our MUD driver being a single-thread process. In layman's terms, the MUD freezes for a half-hour, and is unable to accept/process incoming commands. Some outgoing commands (such as room chats, etc) still are sent. If you do not try to reconnect during the half-hour, you will still be connected, and all sent commands processed, once the MUD unfreezes. This occurring does not usually require an early reboot. We are doing everything we can to track down the cause of this problem, and fix it. We want the MUD to be stable just as much as you do. We apologize for the interruption and inconvenience of this - particularly to those of you who suffer inadvertent character deaths because of it. Thank you for your patience, Osse and the T2T Administration
